How long can you hold your attention?

Not a quiz. A real measure: two classic tasks from attention research, about four minutes, honest numbers at the end. Nothing to sign up for. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it works

Four minutes, two tasks, one honest snapshot.

Attention research does not measure focus by asking how focused you feel. It watches what your responses do over time. This test does the same.

Part 1 · The pulse

React

A ring lights up at unpredictable moments. Tap as fast as you can. Eight lights, under a minute. This is your raw reaction baseline, the same idea behind the psychomotor vigilance task used in sleep and attention research.

Part 2 · The steady stream

Sustain

Digits appear about once per second. Tap for every digit except 3. It is easy for ten seconds. The real test is whether your mind is still there at ninety. Adapted from the Sustained Attention to Response Task.

Your snapshot

See yourself

Your unbroken focus time, reaction speed, consistency, and impulse control, with a score whose formula is shown in full. Saved only on your device, so you can retest after a week of practice and watch it move.

Fair warning, kindly meant: this is a training snapshot, not a medical or clinical assessment. The reference points come from published research on these two tasks (Robertson and colleagues, 1997; Dinges and Powell, 1985), where typical adults fail to withhold on roughly a third to a half of the no go digits. Four quiet minutes give you an honest number. Interruptions do not, so the test pauses if you switch away.
